Taking place blocks from PSU at Keller Fountain, Pettygrove Park, Lovejoy Fountain, and Source Fountain, a group of choreographers, musicians, and historians came together with over 200 performers to create the collaborative site-based artwork known as Frozen Music II: The City Dance of Lawrence & Anna Halprin by Third Angle New Music Ensemble with Linda K. Johnson, Cydney Wilkes, Linda Austin, and Tere Mathern.

The film was in multiple parts, so I edited them together into a single film that showcased the works from each choreographer. I screened the film at 5th Avenue Cinema, which is just .3 miles from Keller Fountain. Linda K. Johnson, one of the choreographers of the piece, attended the screening and did a short Q+A afterwards about her work. She also brought archival materials and ephemera from site-based works throughout her career.

This piece took its name from Moving History: Portland Contemporary Dance Past and Present, a documentary film by Portland-based dancer, filmmaker, and educator Eric Nordstrom. The film, which explores the history of contemporary dance in Portland, includes anecdotes from dancers, choreographers, designers, and critics as well as archival performance clips and photographs.

The initial interviews and performance footage that Eric did for this film form the basis of the Portland Dance Archives, a home for primary resources documenting the history of the Portland dance community.
